Last week, our CEO Akvile interviewed Conrad Combrink, a former colleague and Senior Vice President of Expeditions, Destination and Itinerary Planning at Silversea.
Silversea is often credited as the ultra-luxury cruise line that started ultra-luxury expedition cruising when in 2008 it introduced Silver Explorer, then Prince Albert II to its fleet. Conrad is the mastermind behind the development of its expedition fleet and has executed many other firsts in the sector: an expedition to Bangladesh, landing World Cruise guests in Antarctica, and many more.
In this interview, we chat about how he got into expedition cruising, what it takes to develop an expedition from the idea to the moment the clients disembark the ship, the diversity and beauty of expedition cruising destinations, sustainability, and much more. Happy listening!
