Which expedition cruise company do you work for?
Scenic.
What do you think sets your company apart from other expedition cruise operators?

The design of both our Scenic Eclipse 1 & II has taken expedition cruises to another level with our submersibles and two top of the range Airbus helicopters, allowing our guests to explore event further. We can go to the most remote of places and explore then come back to luxury surroundings with all balcony suites and up to 10 dining venues. Fully inclusive has always been the Scenic philosophy and allows guests to have everything in the cruise price, flights, meals, all beverages, butler service, mini bar restocked daily – note that Helicopter and Submersible trips are at an extra charge.
Do you have a favourite destination that you always recommend to first-time expedition cruisers and if so, which destination is it?

Patagonia is always at the top of my destination loves, with Scenic we cruise The Chilean Coast and get to visit this remarkable part of the world – majestic coastlines, mountains and wildlife – a true explorer paradise.
If you could design your dream expedition cruise itinerary, what would it include?
Following the paths of The Vikings along the coasts of Scotland, Iceland and Norway – reliving there majestic voyages exploring remote regions, to fly over these in a helicopter to capture the grand scale of their achievements in navigation and how they left their mark on many places.
What are your top three travel hacks for making the most out of an expedition cruise?
Listen to the lectures onboard and get to know the environment you are traveling in. Always be prepared for surprises when it comes to wildlife spotting as may be very come around very quickly – Take advantage of all the excursions as this is the way to really know what is around you.
Which lesser-known destination do you think deserves more attention from travellers?
Indonesia is a place I love and deserves more expedition with its vast array of remote islands and its variety of wildlife, history so incredible, I visited Java and the incredible Borobudur Temple which will stay with me forever and don’t always match Bali with beach holidays – the coast is amazing and the northern part of the island is majestic with its volcanic region, having a volcanic mud bath is a must.
If you could only visit one destination for the rest of your life, which would it be?
Easter Island to see the amazing sculptures that are iconic across the world and to learn how they actually did this and immerse yourself in the mystery of it all – always great to try and understand the civilisations of the world – to see over 900 monuments amongst a volcanic backdrop makes this a dream destination.
The one thing you take with you wherever you travel:

I take my thirst for knowledge as since a teenager have always been in awe of the world and its amazing places, to see new places and to understand the different cultures. I met Sir Ranulph Fiennes on a couple of occasions and presented with him at The Royal Geographic Society in London – me and our company learned so much from this great explorer.
