Founded in 2008, Silversea Expeditions launched as the world’s first ultra-luxury expedition line. Private executive transfers (between home and airport), international roundtrip flights, overseas transfers, shore excursions; butler service; 24-hour gourmet dining, first-class wines and premium spirits, onboard gratuities, lectures and daily activities comprising kayaking, hiking and zodiac tours, expedition gear (backpack, water bottle and parka in polar regions) and unlimited WiFi are always included with our door-to-door fares.
What is your most popular itinerary/destination?
We have pushed boundaries with such innovations as our Antarctica Bridge, providing fly-cruise service to Antarctica in business class comfort. Guests can dive straight into a sensory treat of silvery icebergs, charcoal-black mountains and raucous penguin colonies by flying directly to the enigmatic islands. Each day promises new thrills in this surreal realm of spectacular scenery and crisp, pure air. Our expert expedition team is there every step of the way, to elevate your guests’ experience even further. This past year we hosted ultra-luxury cruising’s first Antarctica naming ceremony for our newest ship, Silver Endeavour; enhanced guests’ journeys to Antarctica with a more convenient gateway, Puerto Williams; and announced plans for additional Antarctica Bridge fly-cruise voyages. Following on from the launch of our most luxurious expedition ship combined with the choice of Antarctica itineraries on offer, we have seen the White Continent become extremely popular with guests.
What is new for 2024/25?
New expedition itineraries in South Africa will spotlight unique wildlife with game drives and water activities. Discover the fascinating coastal fishing culture of Madagascar's semi-nomadic Vezo people, marvel at the rich biodiversity of Madagascar's Kirindy Forest Reserve, and explore the ruins of Kilwa Kisiwani.
In the summer of 2024, a collection of cruises will journey to the glaciers and tundra of Norway's Svalbard Archipelago, a haven for polar bears. Longer expeditions will also feature Iceland. In-depth expeditions to Greenland and Arctic Canada offer the chance to experience authentic Inuit culture and spot an abundance of wildlife. Other highlights include a crossing of the Northwest Passage and a new 18-day expedition spotlighting wild Alaska.
Sail across the world “the other way" on Silversea’s Pole-to-Pole Grand Voyage featuring polar opposites in geography, climate and cultures in 2024. You’ll get to know some of the most remote communities and wildlife in the world, as you begin with an extensive exploration of Antarctica before sailing up the East coast of South America, under London’s iconic Tower Bridge, into parts of the British Isles and ending in Iceland and Svalbard.
