Introducing Secret Atlas

Tell us about your company:

At Secret Atlas, we have pioneered Expedition Micro Cruises to some of the world’s most remote destinations, including Svalbard, Greenland, South Georgia, and Antarctica. With decades of first-hand polar exploration, we specialise in micro-group expeditions designed for maximum flexibility, deeper connections with fellow explorers, and a more immersive experience in nature, all while minimizing our environmental impact.

"There's always been a part of me that craves to go where few have ventured. Inspired by the heroic explorers of the past, I want to share real expeditions with our guests. Adventures that satisfy our craving to discover a world far bigger than the one we encounter daily – and explore it with appreciation and time." - Michele D’Agostino, Co-founder

What are your unique selling points?

We're a small, personal business, and we don’t aspire to become a massive corporation. Instead, we measure our success by the quality of each expedition and how our guests feel when they return home. Our goal is to stand out in the cruise industry by charting a different course—one driven by purpose and dedicated to creating a more responsible connection with the world. As passionate explorers, we care deeply about these remarkable locations and are committed to preserving them for future generations.

Our Expedition Micro Cruises, accommodating just 12 guests with a minimum of 2 expert guides, open doors to remote places that larger vessels simply can’t reach. These intimate, adventure-focused journeys are purposefully uncrowded, giving guests the freedom to explore, extended time in each destination, and unmatched access to the wonders of the natural world. Each expedition invites personal discovery, immersing guests in a truly transformative experience—physically, socially, and emotionally—as they engage deeply with their surroundings.

What is your most popular itinerary/destination?

Our Expedition Micro Cruise concept is at the core of every voyage, and recently, we’ve seen a surge in interest in East Greenland. So much in fact, that we’ve added an additional extended tour that explores the stunning Northeast National Park and Scoresbysund. The unique blend of wilderness and rich cultural history makes this destination especially captivating for explorers.

Northeast National Park Micro Cruise, a 14-day expedition aboard MV Freya, runs from August to September | 12 Guests

Svalbard remains a beloved destination and a highlight of our Arctic season. We kick off each year early with our Frozen Svalbard Photography Tours, where legendary photography guides lead the way. We often reach pristine locations before any other operator, offering just 12 guests a rare opportunity to experience the Arctic in its untouched state.

What is new for 2025/26?

For 2025/26, Secret Atlas is proud to continue pioneering small-group, meaningful travel with exclusive expeditions aboard our 12-guest ships, MV Vikingfjord and MV Freya. We will explore some of the world’s most remote destinations, including Svalbard, East Greenland, the fjords of Scoresbysund, and Northeast Greenland National Park. At the core of our mission is the commitment to refining our operations with a focus on sustainability, minimizing environmental impact, and delivering exceptional experiences that go beyond expectations. As part of our dedication to responsible travel, we are excited to collaborate with Yachts for Science, contributing to impactful scientific research and advancing conservation efforts.
